Ryan played basketball, football, soccer, volleyball and baseball competitively through his youth and was awarded the Coaches Award for Athlete of the Year at San Marcos High School as the only Male Three Sport Athlete. In college, Ryan played Intramural Basketball throughout his four years at California State University, Long Beach, as well as walked on to the Varsity Basketball team at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand while studying abroad.
Before moving to Orange County, Ryan directed a teen program in Seattle that saw over 150 teens each week come through his community center. He was responsible for providing every youth and young adult an opportunity to stay out of trouble and develop life skills. From teaching 4 year olds the basics of dribbling and passing to mentoring college basketball players about their off the court responsibilities to themselves and their families, Ryan has motivated, challenged, developed and inspired hundreds of athletes to achieve their potential on and off the court.
